Another internationally renowned musician is finding his way to Beda’s, where he is about to collaborate with Ghana’s vibrating music scene and share his knowledge among professional musicians.
While visiting Accra, Rafael wants to get a feel of traditional music from West Africa and therefore joins the Local Dimension Band, which is formed by Xylophon and Seprewa Master Aaron Bebe, who is a professor at the Legon University of Performing Arts. As a contrast he is also going to jam alongside The Massive Tribe which is experimenting with synthetic loops, African beats and spacious improvisations.
Rafael Baier is a multiple awarded saxophone player and composer from Switzerland. Back in the days he moved to Boston to get his degree at the renowned Berklee College Of Music. Beside his own musical projects he shared the stage with legends as Herbie Hancock and Michael Jackson’s rhythm section Nathan East, Greg Phillinganes, John JR Robinson and many others. Rafael is writing music and arrangements for theatre groups and jazz big bands all around the world. He is a dedicated music teacher and coaches bands and ensembles across the country.
